POLICE v. SCOTT.
To The Editor.
Sir, I notice that you stale in your report of the above case that Mr White appeared for the accused. 1 beg therefore i 0 inform you that I was retained by Scott, and after the case had commenced Mr White came into Court and informed me, that a friend of Scott’s had requested him to appear, and dskod if I would have any objection to his appearing with mo in the caao I replied that I had instructed the accused to plead guilty, but if ho had been retained I had no objection to hi a appealing with mo. I have the authority of both Sc itt and his wife foe stating that neither of them retained Mr White,—l am etc, 11. M. CuTHBERTSON, [As Mr White acted as leading counsel for the defendant, the omission made by our reporter may he excused. We have no doubt both Mr Outhbertsoa and Mr White were duly retained. Bp
