Under this pretence they are trying to deceive the Public and Incautious Purchasers Into the belief that they are the Genuine AMERICAN HOP BITTERS. We wish to warn all honest and unans- I pocting people against this DECEPTION, and to call the attention once more to the facts that the Genuine American Co.’s BOP BITTERS Are put up In Squre, Panelled, Ambercolored Bottles, with White Label on one side, printed In Black Letters, and Green Hop Cluster ; and, on the oiher side, Ifollow Label, with Directions in Red Letters, in English and German, and the name of “Dr Soule” blown in every Bottle. The second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stake. Two miles. 2. District Welter Handicap of 25 sovs; nomination I sov ; acceptance 10s ; minimum weight 8 stone ; district horses only ; one mile. 3. Ashburton Autumn Handicap of 80 sova ; nomination, 1 aov ; acceptance, 2 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake, l£ mile. 4. Foal Stakes of 2 sovs ouch with 25 3ova added. For two-year-old colts, fillies, and geldings, bred, owned, and trained by residents In the district defined by rule 2. Colts, Bst 101 b ; fillies and geldings, Bst 81b. Nomication, 1 aov. Grand .Stand Handicap of 50 sovs ; nomination, Isov; acceptance, 1 bov. Second horse to receive 10 sovs from the slake. Seven furlongs. 3. Harvest Handicap of 30 sovs ; nomination, 1 bov ; acceptance, 1 bov. 1| mile. District horses only. 4. Open Welier Handicap of 40 sovs; nomination, 1 aov ; acceptance, 1 sov ; minimum weight 10 stone. 2 miles. For horses that have never won more than 25 sovs in one event on the flat. 5. Scratch Seeding Race of 15 sovs ; entrance 1 sov, to bo made to the Secretary immediately after the Open Welter is run. Catch weights. J mile. Consolation Handicap of 20 sovs ; nomination,! sov, to be made to the Secretary immediately after the Scratch Selling Race is run ; acceptance, free ; to be notified to the Secretary within 10 minutes of declaration of weights. 1 mile.

RULES AND REGULATIONS, 1. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint; their decision on all points connected with carrying out this programme to bo final. 2 A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in the district lying between the rivers Selwyn and Waitaki from January 15, 886, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting. and owned by a person who has resided in the said district daring the same period. o. Five per cent will bo deducted from the gross of oil moneys payable in accordance with this programme for expenses of the course. 4. All nominations and acceptances go to the funds of the Club, NOMINATIONS. Weights for the second day's handicaps will be declared at 8 o’clock on the evening of the first day’s racing. ACCEPTANCES.
