Wellington, May 10. The Defence Department have purchased from Mr P. Coffey tho steam launch Gordon, and sho is to bo employed In connection with tho defence work now being carried on at Lyttelton harbour. John Stuart Hold, insurance agent, has been adjudicated a bankrupt, Tho charge of embezzlement against J. Stuart Reid has been withdrawn, a document of release, signed by the manager o the Company for which Reid acted as agent, being put In.
