ASHBURTON CHEESE AND BUTTER FACTORY.

LAu extraordinary general meeting he shareholders in the Ashburton Cheese and Butter Factory was held at the Arcade Chambers this afternoon. There wae a good attendance, and Mr H. Friedlan. dor, Chairman of Directors, presided. The meeting was called to confirm a resolution passed at the extraordinary general meeting held on May 18th, to the effect that the Company be voluntarilly wound up under the p ovisions of the Companies Act, 1882. Mr John Grigg moved that the resolution be confirmed. Mr S. S. Chapman seconded the motion. In reply to questions, the Chairman said that he was sorry to state that the

loss on last year’s bacon account was LSBB 17s 3d. This loss was not on the bacon alone, became a -considerable portion included salaries and various which would have gone on all the same bad not bacon-curing been carried on. The actual loss on the bacon amounted to about L3OO The cheese operations for the present year showed a credit balance of L 76 15s 2d, after deducting interest on plant. The motion was then put to the meeting and carried unanimously. Mr G. Jameson moved “That Mr Joshua Tucser be and hereby is appointed liquidator for the purpose of winding up the Company, and that the remuneration I or his services in such winding up be fifteen guineas ” Mr B. Alcorn seconded. Mr Secretan thought two liquidators* should be unpointed, and move an amendment to the effect that Mr Tncker and Mr J, W. White be appointed at a joint remuneration of fifteen guineas. Mr H. Gallon seconded the amendment. After some discussion the amendment was withdrawn, and the motion pat to the meeting and carried unanimously. [Left sitting.]
