Of this 18,(J00,000 have been sold auo disposed of in education and other pubbo reserves ; 14,000,0'J0 belong to the aboriginals, or to Europeans who hare purchased from them ; and 34,000,000 acres of Crown lands still remain for disposal Of the latter, 15,000,000 are open grass or fern country, 10,000,000 forest, and 9,000,000 of barren mountain tops, lakes, and worthless country,"
