All races ate confined to horses that have been commonly resident in that portion of the old Mount Somers Road District, lying sooth of the North Ashburton river, from September 30th, 1885, and owned by a person who has resided in the said district daring the same period. 2. Three horses the hona fide property of different owners to start or no race. i 3. N o entry will bo received except on condition that the decision of the Committee or whom they may appoint, will be final in all oases of dispute, or on all points in carrying out the programme 4. Protests mnst be made in writing, and handed to the Secretary, accompanied by a deposit of 20a within 30 minutes of the race being run. Should the protest prove frivolous, deposit to bo forfeited. 5. All horses *o be ridden out so long as they have a reasonable chance of win- 1 D ing. 6 Owners of horses most be subscribers of not lees than 10s to the fund. 7.
