Ashburton Guardian Office, Saturday afternoon. The following is th* Com Exchange for the week report ending Thursday, November 5 ; : The depres- son noted in our last week’s report has in no way abated; the same stagnation exists in all our leading lines. Wheat — milling, first or second quality, has no’speculative business, and orders on hand are limited. Chick wheal, however, s'ill commands ready sale at our quoted ra es. Oats have only a moderate enqu ry, the quantities offering being m excess of demand. Peas and beans are without while grass seeds can only he disposed of in small lots* Potatoes are weaker, with few who care to buy ; the near approach of the new crops in our adjoining colonies no doubt influences caution.
