Ladies' Pobsb, of 40 sots ; welter weights for age ; gentlemen riders ; entrance, 3 sots. 1$ miles. 6. Post Stakes of 15 sots ; catch weights; nomination, 1 sov, to be made to the Secretary immediately after the Ladies I Parse is ran. The winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race for 16 sots, any surplus to go to the funds of the Club. 1 mile. 6. Flying Handicap, of 50 sots ; nomination, 1 sot ; acceptance, 2 sots. }-mile. Second Day. 1. Bacb, of 50 sots ; oTer eight flights of hurdles about 3ft 6in high ; nomination, 1 botjJ acceptance, 2 sots. 2 miles. 2. Racing Club Handicap, of 75J sots ; nomination, 1 sot; acceptance, 3 sots. miles. 3. County Plate Handicap, of 25 sots; nomination, IIsot; acceptance, I|bot. District horses only. 1J miles. 4. Totalisator Stakes, of 15 sots ; minimum weight Bst; nomination 1 sot, to be made to the Secretary immediately after the County Plate is run. The winner to be sold immediately after the race for 10 sots, any surplus to go to the funds of the Club. J mile. 5. Welter Handuap, of 40 sots]; nomination, 1 boy ; acceptance, 2 sovs ; minimum weight, lost. For horses that haTe never won more ’ han 25 sots in one event on the flat. 2 miles. 6. Consolation Handicap, of 20 sovs ; nomination, 1 sot, to bo made to the Secretary immediately after the Welter Handicap is run; acceptance, free, to be notified to the Secretary within ten minutes of declaration of weights. 1 mile.
RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint; their decision on all points connected with carrying out this programme to be final. 2. Canterbury Jockey Club Racing Buies strictly adhered to. 3. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in the district lying between the rivers Selwyn and Waltaki from July 15, 1886, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, *nd owned by a person who has resided in he said district during the same perioa. 4. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all moneys payable in accordance with this programme for expenses of the course. 6. All nominations and acceptances go to the funds of the Club. NOMINATIONS. All nominations to be accompanied by fees, name, age and description of horse, and colors of rider, and in the hands of the Secretary (address —Ashburton) not later than 9 p.m. on Thursday, November Is, 1885. WEIGHTS. Weights for the first day’s handicaps will bo declared on Friday, December 4, 1886. Weights for the second day’s handicaps will bo declared at 8 o’clock on the evening of the first day’s racing. ACCEPTANCES. Acceptances for the first day’s handicaps most be made to the Secretary not later than 9 p.m. on TUESDAY, December 8, 1885.
