CUSTOMS R ,VENUE.

Wellington, Last night. The returns of the Customs revenue collected in the colony last month are not yet completed, but those to hand give a total of L 109.136 Keturns have yet to come in from Kaipara, Tauranga, Wairau, and Pioton, and these will probably raise tha total to about UIO,OOO, which is a large reduction on the preceding month (L125,026> and the corresponding month last year (Ll 14,241). The sums collected at the four principal ports last month are as follow: £ Auckland- ... ... 21,098 Wellington ... 23,998 Ly ttelton and Christchurch 16 685 Dunedin 27,210 At Auckland, Lyttelton, and Dunedin, there is a decrease of revenue, as compared with the returns for September last and ctober, 1884 j while, in Wellington, there is a substantial increase. Tnare is a slight falling off at all the other ports except at Thames, Poverty Bay, Napier, Invercargill, and Gteymoutfc,

The beer doty collected last month was, w'th one small return yet to come in L 4.550; while, for - s eptember, it was L 4,913, and for October, 1884, L 4,8501. Last month L 1,096 was collected at Auckland, L 490 at Wellington, L 972 at Christchurch, and L 974 at Dunedin. At most places there Is an iocreaW of duty over that collected in September last, bat a reduction as compared with October last year.
