Buyers exhibiting keen competitioa for all lots resulted in a ready sale at advanced rates Good orcssbred wethers, 15s 6d to 17a 6d ; extra prime, 19a 6d ; medium weights, 14s to 15s ; ewes, 15s to 16a ; extra heavy, 20s ; merinos to lls 6d ; equalling for best lines nearly 2jd per lb ; average quality, 2£d per lb Of stores there were few on offer, and there being plenty of enquiry better rates can bo obtained. In beef there was a .small entry, and prices advanced considerably, [ fully 10s to 15s per head ; best quality, 20s per 1001 b ; very best, 21s. In store cattle there was a light entry and an improving demand for young stock, and 2 to 3-year-old dairy cattle. There was a leas enquiry for pigs and a very full market. Stores and porkers were considerably easier, but baconers realised late rates. .
