Ashbukxom Guardian Office, Wednesday afternoon. Mr E. G. Staveley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, limited), reports on the Ashburton live stock market under date 7th July, as follows: — Sheep Considering the inclement weather recently experienced, the number to hand was larger than would have been expected. There „tiras more than an average attendance, and a good demand throughout, especially for hoggets, which made 9s 3d, 9 s 9d and 10s for good fines, and 5s rod for medium sorts; mixed ages crossbred ewes brought ns id; aged merino ewes, in lamb, 4s 3d. There were very few 'fat weep penned. A few merino wethers brought 7s and 7s id. Cattle—Not many yarded, and prices are without alteration. All forward sold at our quotations.. Fat bullocks to L 7 12s 6d; forward stores to L$ 7 s 6d; fat cows, LS los; springing heifers, L 3 10s.
