She left Plymouth on May 23, at 2.12 p.m , arrived at Tenoraffe on the 28th at 2 33 a.m,, nailed 1.56 p.m. the same day ; arrived at the Oape June 12 at 2.26 p.m , sailed 13th at noon; arrived at Hobart July 2 at noon, sailed 3rd at 3.35 a.m.; arrived at Auckland 845 am. to-day. Passengers all veil. No deaths; one birth (wife of Dr Menzios of a daughter). Landed one case of small I pox (a fireman) at Teneriffe forty days ago, alter which the ship was thoroughly dis-i infected, and there has been no other outbreak. Supreme Court. Wbllisgxon, To-day. At the Supreme Court, Williams, alias Allandale, who pleaded guilty to the recent jewellery robbery, was sentenced to four years. Toapey, for false pretences, received three years; be had several previous records against him. Military Examination. The first examination under the Military School Board will be taken during the first week of next month. Local Manufacture. Samples of cartridge cases to be used in the manufacture of cartridges in Auckland have been received here. They are much superior to the cases used in the imported snider cartridges, and have the advantage that they can be refilled. Gun Trial A trial of the rapid firing Hotchkiss gun will be made on Saturday afternoon. It is not intended to experiment with heavy guns, as it is thought inadvisable to use the ammunition at present in stock until shipments ordered have been shipped. Bruce Seat. A new writ for the Bruce seat was issued this morning, and made returnable by August 18. Shipping. Arrived—Triumph from Newcastle via Sydney. No news. Disagreement. At the Supreme Court the jury, in the case of Simmons, a prisoner charged with assaulting the Governor of the Goal, were unable to agree, and were locked up all night. This morning they were dis* charged, and another jury will be empanelled. The AorangiOhkistchuech, To-day. The B.M.S. Aorangi sailed for London to-day, taking 96 passengers.
