YESTERDAY’S LATE TELEGRAMS.

Auckland A private telegram from London states that the difficulties between the vendors of the P&etere block and the purchasing Company in London have been settled. ' Captain Fairchild, of the Hinemoa, today lifted one of the submarine mines at the North Hoad, at the request of Colonel Whitmore, to bo taken to Wellington by the Hinemoa for exhibition. A valuable steam threshing machine, belonging to Mr Wallace, Cambridge, West, was burned by incendiarism. It was insured in the Norwich Union for L2OO- - old women was handed over, on the arrival of the Manapouri from Sydney, for travelling without a ticket.
