Gjssxlemen,—Your requisition, inviting me to stand for Wakanui, adds one more to the many tokens of goodwill which I have received from my fellow settlers in the County of Ashburton. Although I would much prefer at the present time to take no further burdens upon my shoulders, I feel that a requisition such as that which you have presented to me is almost of the nature of a command to discharge a public duty. I therefore have the honor to accept your invitation, and will take an early opportunity of addressing the electors. Having been amongst the first to invite Sir Julius Vogel to stand for Ashburton I shall, iLreturned, be prepared to support whatever measures be may bring forward in the interests of the Colony. I am, Gentlemen, Your very obedient Servant, EDWARD Q. WRIGHT. To Donald Williamson, Esq., and the other gentlemen signing the requisition.
PIBLIC NOTICE, I BEG to inform my friends and onsturners that 1 have disposed of the business as Chemist and Druggist, which I have carried on in this town for the past twelve years. Kamnitzer in succeeding to the business, hopes to be favored with a continuance of the patronage so long enjoyed by Mr Cambridge. A.
