“ HE SMALL BIRD NUISANCE."
To the Editor.
Si k, —Hearing that the Oodnty Council are not going to take any steps to abate the small bird nuisance tM« year, beoanae the poisoned wheat was so unsuccessful " last year, I should be much obliged If yea would allow me through your mSdims, to remind them of the very great success which attended the undertaking the pre- ' ▼ions year, 1883. The farmers were . unanimous in pronouncing it to be a great and unqualified success; the birds were found dead in hundreds on the roads and in the fields, and the poisoned grain was :, proved to have done its work effectually. 1 trust that the interests of the farmers will not be forgotten this year, and that the County Council will, as the sowing... has commenced, giro the contract at' once to the successful tenderer of 1883, and thereby be assured of a similar result. —I am, etc., Thb Pabxbb’s Fjuxhd. June 4th, 1885.
