The Militia. . • When the Militia are called oat it will be only single men from 17 to 30, and these will have to undergo a certain number of hours drill in the year. Native Lands. The Native Land Disposition Bill is in course of preparation, and vuill be circulated before the opening of Parliament. It is proposed that all the native lands of the colony shall be dealt with through the agency of Boards, established in various districts, but lands are to be strictly dealt with under the laws of the colony. Each Board is to consist of three members, the Chairman of the Native Committee to he an ex-officio member of the Board. There is to be a local Board for every large blopk of land, and in cases where there are TOO owners they may appoint a committee to make representations to the Board* The Land BUI. At midnight last night, while loading coal tracks on the wharf, one of a squad of men fell overboard and was drowned. It is believed he struck a pile in his descent. The deceased man was Carl W.
