The celebrated dispute re the Mangateretero west block, seven miles from Napier, which has been in the Supreme Court for the last 16 years, has been settled. The dispute was between the late Karitiana, the Maori member, and Mr Sutton, late M.H H. for _ Hawke a Bay. The block has been divined, and Mr Sutton obtains a portion of highly improved land, valu- d at L 15,000.

The health ot all on board is good, with one exception —that of a seaman who on March 30th took smallpox. He is now convalescent, and his clothes and bedding have been destroyed, and ho has been completely Isolated since the outbreak of the disease. The Arawa brings 20 saloon, 40 second cabin, 75 steerage passengers, and 2,600 tons of cargo for all porta. _On her arrival at Hobart all communication with her (was forbidden, and tne passengers 'lor. that port and Australia have been brought here, and when she is admitted to pratique they will be sent back to their destinations. She loft Plymouth at 3.10 p.m. on March Bih, arrived at Capetown on April 15th. after a passage of 18 days 9 hours 35 mins. She left at J 1.35 p.m, on the L6th, and arrived at Honart on May 4th, 16 days 23 hours 49 mins from Capetown. She left at 530 pm. on the 4th, passed the Bluff at 11 a.m. on the 7th, and arrived at 10 p.m. after a passage of 39 days 19 hours 50 mins—sctual steaming time, 38 days 30 mins.

Her - official letters were J.L.K.8., but a vessel bearing that Distinction is not yet on the list of British shipping in use at ‘ the pilot station.
