Four years ago the same section was bought for L 8 per foot. Libel Case. Dunedin, To-day. Jn the Supreme Court Andrew Purnis claims 1,500 damages from David Crawford for libel. The plaintiff had been master of the State school at Strath Taieri, of which defendant was chairman. Plaintiff was dismissed under clause 47 for misconduct without an opportunity of giving an explanation. Plaintiff wrote a letter to witness attacking the Committee generally, and defendant in particular. To this the defendant replied, making allegations which form the subject of the alleged libel. Important to Photographers. At the City Court Mr Carew held that a photographer’s premises came under the operations of the Factories {Act, and inflicted nominal penalties for certain breaches.
