The Agent-General for New Zealand has written a letter to the Melbourne Argus with reference to remarks made in Meloourne by Mr Froude respecting the Australian Agents-Geueral and their fitness to act as Parliamentary representatives of the colonies in Britain.' Bir F. L). Bell declares that none of the present Agents-General have met Mr Froude. London, March 15.
A statement made in the Pall Mall Gazette on the 9th inst., that the British Government in order to propitiate Prince Bismarck had conceded the Huon Gulf and territory to the north of it to Germany has been confirmed.
London, March 18.
Lord Derby has telegraphed to the Governor of Victoria that it was never proposed that the decision that the frontier between British and German territory in JNew Guinea should be fixed at the Bth degree of south latitude should apply inland.
