5t London, March 23. Reuter’s special correspondent with Ir General Graham’s army, telegraphs p under date midnight, March 22, that a the British troops under command of e Major-General M'Neill, formed a t zareeba at a point about six miles along the road to Tamai. The posi- ® tion had only been occupied for g 0 short time, when it was attacked by a large force of Arabs, numbering fully 3 4,000. They made a violent onslaught , on the zareeba, and the fighting, which , was of the most desperate character, lasted about twenty minutes,after which time the enemy were repulsed with a loss estimated at over 1,000, The British casualties are given' as five officers and 51 rank and file killed, and 176 wounded. Later. Further intelligence to hand from Suakim respecting the engagement yesterday between the rebels and the British troops under Major-General M‘Nei!l at the zareeba on the road to Tamai, states that the British loss was not so great as at first reported. The British casualties are now set down at two officers, twenty-four rank and file killed, and thirty-tkree wounded. (iieceived March Si, 12.45 p.m.) Cairo, March 23.
