Handicap Hurdle Race, of 60 sovs { over eight flights of hurdles, about 3£t 6in high ; nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 2 sovs. 2 miles. 2. District Welter Handicap, of 30 sovs ; nomination, 1 sov ; accept* ance, 1 sov. Minimum weight, Bst. 1 mile. District horses only. 3. A«hbcrton Autumn Handicap, of 100 sovs ; nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 2 sovs. Second horse to receive 25 sovs from the stake. 1J miles. 4. Novel Race Handicap of 30 sovs; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov. J mile. The winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race, and the whole of the proceeds to go to the funds of the Club. 5. Scpatch Selling Race, of 15 bovb ; entrance, 1 sov, to be made to the Secretary immediately after the Open Weller is run. Catch weights, mile. The winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race for 15 sovs, any surplus to go to th funds of the Club. 6. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint; their decision on all points connected with carrying one this programme to be final. 2. Canterbury Jockey Club Racin Rules strictly adhered to. 3. A district horse shall mean any h?rae that has been commonly resident in the Ashburton County from 16th, January, 1885, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting and owned by a person who has resided in the said County daring the same period. | 4. Fb'e per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all monies payable in accord* ■ ance with this programme for expenses of the course. 6, All nominations and acceptances to the funds of the Club. NOMINATIONS. All nominations to be accompanied by fees, name, age, and description of hone and colors of grider, and in the hands of the Secretary (address—Ashburton) not later than 9 p.m. on Thursday. 26th March, 1885. WEIGHTS. Weights for the first day’s handicaps will be declared on Thursday, 23rd April, 1885. Weights for the second day’s handicaps will be declared at 9 o’clock on the evening of the first day*, racing.
