Further evidence was taken to-day in the charge against Thornes McKenzie, mate of the Janet Ramsay, for the attempted murder of the captain by throwing h»* m overboard. Further Addresses.
The Mayor, has, at the request of a number of the citizens, telegraphed to the Premier, requesting him and Sir Julius Vogel to address a public meeting in Dunedin at an early date. Inquests. Inquests were held to-day ou the bodies of John Horregan, of Oamaru, and Sam. Green, of Fernbill, who died suddenly. In both cases verdicts of death from natural causes were returned. The Caversham Accident.
The lad William Fraser, who was injured on the Caversham Tramway on Tuesday, died at the Hospital this afternoon. _ '
Mr James Galbraith.
Cable advice was received in town today from Glasgow announcing the death of Mr James Galbraith on March 4th. Deceased was senior partner in the wellknown shipping firm of P. Henderson and Co., of Glasgow, and was afterwards Managing Director of the Albion Company, and on its amalgamation with Shaw, SaviliandCo. became one of the Board of Directors.
