Troops for Soudan. Adelaide, To-day
The South Australian Government have received from the Colonial Office telegrams saying that if the colony independently or conjointly will despatch forces in time to arrive in Suakim bySeptember the Imperial Government will gladly accept their services. Inquiry was made as to the number, description and training of the preferred troops, and stress was laid upon the importance of I the whole contingent drilling together for at least a month. Sir W. JervoisSir W. Jervois has been cordially received here by all classes.
