Noticb is Heeby Given that, at the next ordinary meeting of the Ashburton County Council which will be held on FRIDAY, 27th intant, at 11 o’clock in the Forenoon, the following resolution will be considered by the Cuncil: — Resolved—That the Council do make a Special Order altering the boundaries of the Mount Hutt Road District and the Mount Somers Road District, and that such Special Order be as follows, that is to say— I
SPECIAL ORDER, n compliance with the petition of tt ratepayers of the Mount Hutt Roa District and of part of the Mom Somers Road District which has bee presented to the Council, and in pui suance of the powers conferred upo the Council by the Road Boards Aol 1882, The Road Boards Act, 1881 Amendment Act, 1883, and of a other powers vested in it in the behalf, the County Council of tb County of Ashburton doth hereb; order and declare that the boundarie of the said Road District shall bi altered, and that from and after th day on which this Special Order shal be gazetted the boundaries of the sail Road Districts shall be as follows that is to say— THE MOUNT HUTT ROAD DISTRICT--11 that area in the Provincial District o Canterbury bounded towards tip north-east by a line commencing at i point opposite the middle of the junction of a stream debouching frotr Lake Heron and falling into the Rivei Rakaia, and commonly known as the Lake Stream, along the middle of tl c Rakaia River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of rural section number 7,305, Corwar Survey District, thence towards the southeast by a line along the middle of the road forming the north-western boundaries of rural sections numbered respectively 26,917, 26,918, 7,301, 15,544, 7,310, and 15,597 aforesaid survey district; thence again towards the south by a line along the middle of the road forming the southern boundary of rural section number 27,304, and that road continued to the north-eastern boundary line of rural section number 34,170, Spaxton Survey district; thence towards the south-west by that section and rural sections numbered respectively 30,960 and 34,169 Spaxton Survey district aforesaid, thence along the middle of the road formingthe western boundary of said section 34,169 to the north branch of the river Ashburton to the middle of the river, thence north? wards along the middle of the river to a point opposite the north-west corner cf rural section number 26,121, thence again towards the south-west by a line along the middle of the north branch of the river Ashburton to the south-east corner of runs numbered respectively 435, 436, and 437, thence westwards along the southern boundary of said runs and extension of same in a straight line to the eastern and northern boundaries of run number 298; thence along the eastern boundary of said run to the southj east corner of run number 175$ thence along the eastern boundary fjf said run to the Lakp Stream ; thepce along (he Lake Stqeaiu to a point iq the middle of the river Rakaia opposite the junction of the Lake Stream with said river. V THE MOUNT SOMERS ROAD DIS Rlof| that area in the ProvinMal District of Canterbury bounded the north and north-east respectively by a right line due east from the Southern Alps to the source of the river Rakaia near Whitcomb’s Pass ; thence by a line along the middle of the river Rakaia to the M> unt Hutt Road district; thence by that road district to the north-west corner of rural section nutnbar 26,121; thence southwards along the middle of the north branch of the river Ashburton to a point in line with the south-west boundary of rural section number 16,558, Westerfield Survey district; again towards the south-east by a right line to, and thence by the southeastern boundary line of rural section number 20,569,. Westerfield Survey district aforesaid ; thence by that section and rural sections numbered respectively 26.412, 8,860, 34,631 and 21.336 ; thence by the continuation in prstorly and westerly directions of a road forming the northwestern boundary of sections number 29,851, Westerfield Survey district aforesaid to the road fornntig the north-eastern boundary of rnral section nuqiber 21,334, Westerfield Survey district aforesaid ; thence by that section to the river Hinds ; again towards the south-west and southeast by the Rangitata Road district to the middle of (he river Rangitata; thence again towards the south-west and south-east by a line along the middle of that river and Forest Greek respectively to the source of the latter in Two-Thumb Range j thence towards the west by the summit of that range to the summit of the Southern Alps near Mount Tyndall; thence towards the north-west by Westland
County, along the middle of the river Rakaia to the starting point. t,nd it is also ordered that the number of members of the Board of the said the Mount Hutt Road District shall be and that the number of members of the Board of the said the Mount Somers Rpad District shall be Resolved —That the Council do make a Special Order dissolving the Board of the Mount Hutt Road District, and that such Special Order be as follows, that is to say SPECIAL ORDERWhe.reas by virtue of the powers conferred upon U by the Road Boards Act, 1882, the Road Boards Act, 18 S2, Amendment Aot, 1883, and all other powers vested in it in that be ' half, this Council has altered theboun daries of the Mount Hutt Road District, and it is enacted' by th) thirteenth section of the Road Board
