WELLINGTON jT&AINING NOTES.
Wellington, Yesterday. Very litte work was done at Island Bay this morning. Sou’* Wester did the Gold Cup distance at a nice pipe-opening pace, going strongly, and finishing as if be enjoyed hia 'spin. Ugly Buck did a little over a mile and a half at nearly top speed, going in very resolute style. Black Bose and Clogs walked for fully two hours, but did nothing more. JMaccaroni cantered a couple of mi e*. The Hew Plymouth horses, Normanby, Okato, and Wide* Awake, arrived to-day. The racehorses Fusilier, Lady Evelyn, Talebearer, and Ealiy (late Whitbaoh), anived from the South this morniug. Vanguard was scratched this evening for all engagements at the Jockey Club Meeting,
