. Ashburton Guardian Office, Friday afternoon. The following is the Christchurch Corn Exchange report for-the week ending Friday, 23rd inst.—The local market for grain and produce continues in the-samc dull slate, while interorders are Jew and far between, and no marked improvement .can be expected for some weeks. A few fine samples of new oats have been.shown this week, but without eliciting offers, buyers being shy of quoting. The probable opening price is not expected to reach over 2s per bushel. Recent shipments c jprime butter have had the effect of hardenir nprices, and one penny more may be fnrly quoted -Quotations To. date as follows: Wheat: Tuscan, nominal value, 3s ; Hunter’s and pearl, 3s 2d to 3s 4d f.o.b. ; chicken feed, is 6d to 2s.—Oats: Bright short feed, (old), 2s 4<i ; new, undecided, f.o.b. —Barley : 3 5 .6 d to 4s for malting.; feed, 2s to, ss, Christchurch.—But terr ?d to 7J£d; Cheese, 4d to f.o.b* ■ -
