I 106 HE EDUCATION - BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OP NORTH CANTERBURY. ELECTION OF COMMITTEES. The Board in pursuance of power in that behalf conferred by the Education Act, 1877, section 04, hereby directs that a Public MEETING of the Householders in every School District throughout the Education District of North Canterbury, be held on MONDAY, the twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, at seven o’clock in the evening, for the Election in each district of seven householders (section 58) to form the Committee for such d’strict for the year ending a ith the fourth Monday in January next year. The place of meeting shall be the Schoolroom in each district, and this is understood to mean the main schoolroom in any district which has more than one school. The Board further directs that the first meeting of each School Committee be held in the place appointed for the Election, and immediately after the Election, upon the same evening. The Board further request that the Chairman of each public meeting make to the Board, immediately after the election, a return of the names of the several householders elected to form the Committee, and recommends that each Chairman of Committee report his own election as soon as possible. ij.
