A meeting of jlthe Inland Communication Committee of Railway Guarantors and the public took place at noon, when Messrs Fell and Sclandera, the delegates who returned from Christchurch this morning, reported the consent of the Canterbury Committee and Guarantois to unite with the people of Nelson in giving effect to a scheme for the construction of a railway from Springfield to Brunnerton and thence to Nelson. A contract having been prepared, will be entered into with the Government und°r the Act of last session, and the meeting appointed Messrs Fell, So’.anders, Pitt, J. id. Cock and Jackson as five gentlemen representing Nelson in signing this contract. The meeting unanimously resolved to send, as delegates to London, with the Canterbury delegates, Messrs Scott and Dobson, and it is almost settled that Mr Fell will go Home too
