-Wednesday ahemoon. Messrs Friedlander Bros, (in conjunc'ion with Messrs |Robert Wilkin and Co., perF. C. Tabart, auctioneer) report upon the live stock market for the week ending December 30, as follows ;—A large supply came Dr ward, numbering about 7,000, and consisting mostly of s ores, the was very poor, and biddings Very slack. The fat sheep market was not largely represented, and most of these were turned out unsold. In stores, hoggets fe- ■ prime quality brought lis to 12s Sd ; culls, 9s 3d; tacrino wethers in the wool, made 9s id ; crossbred ewes and lambs shorn with about - per cent, made 14s 3d ; merino ewes, per cent, of lambs, sold at 14s. average supply yarded, good forin fair demand, heifers sold L 4 10s ; far cows, L 4 10s, L 5 ; yearlings mixed at 335. Cox and Co. report upon for the Ashburton district December 30th as follows ; at the Tinwald Yards, we weekly sale of sheep, cattle and in the midst of the holidays, entry of sheep and a fair cattle brought fcrwa-d, but of sheep seemed to drag, and doubt that are declihin price. Considering the fat sheep, a further reduction to be accepted to allow for profitIn fat sheep there was a try, but not reaching owners’ remostly turned out unsold.
