B andicap Hurdle Pace, of 25 sots (over six flights cf hurdles, about 3ft 6;n high), and a sweep of 1 ser each, to be paid to the Secretary before 9 p.m. the night before the races; to go to the second horse Distance, miles. Nominations, 1$ sovs ; acceptance, 1 sovs. 3. The Methven Ccp, a handicap of 60 sovs and a sweep of 2 sovs each (to be paid to the Secretary before 9 p. m. the night before the race) to go to the second horse. Distance, 1J miles. Nomination, 2 sovs; accep* tance, 1 sot. 4. Trotting Race, a distance handicap of 12 sovs. Distance, 3 miles. Nominations, 1 aov ; acceptance, 1 bov, 5. District Hurdle Race, a handicap ol 15 sovs; over six flights of hurdles, about 3ft 6in high. Distance 1J miles. Nomination, 1 sovs ; -acceptance, 1 sovs. 6. District Selling Hack Race, of It sovs ; the winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race for 10 sovs, any surplus over that amount to go to the funds of the Club; catch weights. Distance, 1 mile. Entrance, 1 sov. 7. Consolation Handicap, of 15 sovs, for horses that have been beaten during the meeting. Nominations to be made to the Secretary immediately after the District Selling Race. Nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance free, to be made within ten minutes after the declaration of the weights. Distance, 1 mile. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, ot whom they may appoint; their decision on all points in carrying out the -programme to be final. 2. Canterbury Jockey Club Racing Rules strictly adhered to. 3. A district horse shall mean any horse whose owner has resided in the Mount Hutt or South Rakaia Road Board districts, or Alford Forest as far as Bowyer’s Stream, thence along Thomp son’s Track to Mitcham for three months immediately preceding the races, and has been their bond fide property daring time4. Five per cent will be deducted m the gross of all monies payable in accordance with this programme for expea ses of the course. - N 5. All nominations and acceptances to the funds of the Club, NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES Nominations for Handicaps to be accompanied by fees, name, age, and performance of the horse and colors of the rider to be sent to the Secretary, addressed Methven Hotel, before 9 p.m. on Nov. 26th. Handicap Trot, of 8 sovs. Entrance, 10s; acceptance, 5s to go to second horse ; miles ; post entries ; no weight under list 71b. 3. Mount Somers Cup, handicap of 10 sovs. Entrance 10s; acceptance 10s to go to second horse; l£ miles; winner of Maiden to carry 7ib extra; entries to be lodged with the Secretary before 7.30 p.m on Dec. 19. 4. Pony Race, of 3 sovs; second 1 sov ; entrance, 5s ; height not to exceed 14£ hands ; | mile ; post entries ; catch weights. 5. Shepherd's Race, of 5 sovs, with a sweep of 6a each for second horse. Entrance, 7s fid; 1 mile ; post entries ; minimum weight Hat. 6. Novel Race, of 3 sovs, second horse to awe entrance fee ; i mile; entrance, ss; post entries; catch ■ weights. Will be run on the sam r principle as a donkey race, the las; horse winning. RULES. 1, All races confined to district horse: 2. A district horse shall mean an horse that has been commonly resider in that portion ofche old Mount Some: Road District lying south of the nort Ashburton from 80th September, 18& and up to the date of the forthcomic meeting, and owned by a person who ht resided in the said disvrict during tl same period. 3 The decision of the Committee whom they may appoint to be final in cases of dispute or on all points in carry ing out the programme. 4 All horses must be ridden out e long as they have a reasonable chance < winning. 5. Three horses the bona fide properl of different owners to start or no race, 6. No protest will be entertained made within 30 minutes after the race run, accompanied by a deposit of which may be forfeited should theprotea prove frivolous. 7. Owners of horses must be subscribe: of 10s to the fund. 8. Race No. 5 will be confined to en ployeas on stations paying tent for wasl lands of the Crown. First race to start at 11 a.m. 11 £2lB W.
