McLeod and W. Cockle. Programme : 1. Handicap Hurdle Race, of 16 sr vs ; over six flights of hurdles, about 3£t 6in high ; nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 20s; miles, 2. Winslow Cup (handicap), of 30 sovs ; nomination, 20a ; acceptance, 20s j second horse to receive 5 bovb from the stake ; miles. 3. Trotting Race (a distance handicap), of 10 sovs ; nomination, 10a ; acceptance, 10s; 2 miles. 4. Maiden Plate, of 15 sovs; weight for age ; entrance, 30s ; l.mile. 5. Selling Hack Pace, of 10 sovs ; the winner to be sold immediately after the race for 15 sovs ; any surplus to go to the funds of the Committee ; entrance, 1 sov ; 1 mile. 6. Consolation Handicap, of 10 sovs; nomination, 10s, to be made immediately after the Selling Hack Race is run ; acceptance 10s to be made within 10 minutes of declaration of the weights. 1 mile RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Committee, or whom they may appoint; their decision on all points in carrying out the programme to be final. 2. Ashburton Racing Club’s Racing Rules strictly adhered to. 3 The races are open to any horse that has been commonly resident in the country lying between the south bank of (the Selwyn and the north bank of the Orari from September 30bh, 1884, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in the district above defined during the same period. 4. Five per cent will be deducted from the gross of all moneys payable in accordance with this programme for expenses of the course. 5. All nominations and acceptances go to the funds of the Committee. 6. Three horses to start or no race. NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES Nominations to be accompanied by fees, name, and performances of the horse and colors of the rider to be in the hands of the Secretary, addressed Winslow Hotel, or lodged with Mr S. Saunders, secretary A.R, <J., before 9 p.m. on Dec. 20th. Weights will be declared on 29th Dec, Acceptances to be made to the Secretary at the Winslow Hotel, or to Mr S.
