The Right. Hon. and Most Rev. : Lord ? - Plohkef, Bishop of Meath, has been appointed to the Archbishopric of Dublin, vacant by the resignation of "jSrTrench. Monetary and Commercial. The total reserve in the Bank of £nj>land in notes and bullion is r tr2,500,006, being an 'increase of L 400,000 during the week.. The proportion of reserve to liabilities has fallen (joci 41 to' 40 per cent. The Bank rate of discount remains at 5 per cent., arid the market rate at Consols 'are unchanged at and New Zealand securities at last quotations. Australian hidesare in good demand, and rather dearer. . Breadstuff's and tallow are without quotable change.
