Fires. - Chbistchdech, To-day. At 2 a.m. to-day a six-roomed house at Spreydou, owned and occupied by Mr O. Dale, was burned down. It was insured for LBSO, and tbe furniture for L6O in the London and Lancashire. The supposed cause is a defective chimney. Just afterwards a two-storeyed building in Tnam street, belonging to Mr Cuddon, brewer, and occupied by Mr Cook, fruiterer, and Mr White# ale and porter bottler, was burned. It was insured for L7OO in the South British. Mr Cook’s stock was insured foe.L2pQ in tbe Equitable, and Mr White’s for in the United. Nothing was saved. The cause of the fire is not known. , , *; * Fatality. 1 Dr J. T. Bouse,‘of Lyttelton, who was thrown from his horse a few days ago, died this morning from the injuries sustained.'
