THE ENGLISH CRIOKETEE& [rKDTEE’S TELEGRAMS—COPYRIGHT.] Adelaide, Yesterday, The cricket match between the English and Australian teams commenced here today. The latter was represented by Alexander, Blackham, Boyle, Bonnor, Bannerman, Cooper, Gtffen, Murdoch, McDonnell, Palmer and Scott. Spofforth was absent, and Midwinter was unable to play on account of illness. The weaihtsrwaa splendid throughout the day, and’ the attendance of spectators was .good. The Australians went in first, and at the luncheon adjournment lost two wickets for 40 runs. Bannerman, Ibw, 2 ; McDonnell, not out, 33 : and Murdoch, o, 6. The Australians continued at the wickets all the afternoon, and put together a total of 243 runs before the last wicket fell.
