Ashburton Guardian Office, Friday afternoon. Mr E. G. Staveley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited), reports on the Tinwald live stock market under date December 2nd; —Sheep— An average entry of fat aid stores. Most of the pens were cleared at full values, as per quotations, which refer to sho n sheep un’ess otherwise stated: —Fat crossbred ewes 13s, wethers 14s, forward merino wethers 7s id, do in wool 11s 3d, f. t two-tooth cross-bred 13s sd, store do ns 3d, two and fourtooth mixed crossb eds ns 9J and 12 -, S.M. tnerino wethers in wool 93 6d, do ewe.; 10s 2d, and, aged ewes ys, merino ewes in the wool, with large percentage of crossbred 1 mbs, 12s 9!. Cattle—A fair number y rded, and for lines of good stores a decided improvement s valu s, and more inquiry. Be t was scantily supplied, and prices denoted no improvement. Fat cows and heifers made L 4 10s, L 5 5 s an( l L 6 2S 6d; 18 months’ mixed cattle 453 and 50s, two-year-old steers L 3 7s 6d and i 3 xos.
