Frank Morton, a carpenter belonging to Dunedin, who has been working here for some months, disappeared yesterday. The circumstances lead to the suspicion that he has been drowned in the river. Drowned. Blenheim, To-day.
Ahoy, five years old, the son of the master of the schooner Onward, loading atKaituna in the Sounds, near Havelock, was drowned yesterday. He was last seen fishing off a punt. The body has not yet been recovered.

Mr Wakefield addressed a crowded meeting in the Leeston Town Hall last night, speaking for two hours and a half. Though at first he was coolly received and even hissed, he carried the meeting with him, and was accorded a voce of thanks and renewed confidence by a very large majority.
