[by telegraph.] Blenheim, To-day. A boy of sixteen, named John Bose, the sou of most respectable patents, distinguished himself yesterday by oh<ai ing a gun in the name of a former employer from a local tradesman, and he sallied forth into the country, pointing it in a threatening manner at a young man in a tree before leaving Blenheim. The boy having been in the lunatic asylum in consequence of strange exploits in the Wanganui district twelve months ago, his parents gave information to the police, who searched the country for the boy yesterday afiernoon, and took him and his gun Into custody. He had bought powder, blank cartridges, provisions and several small articles of clothing, presumably for a long expedition. When arrested he said he had been out (o shoot a young woman who had deceived him, and who i«, of course, entirely the creature of his imagination, and he did not like to return to his father’s house because poison was laid for him all about the place, which is equally untrue. Since his arrest he states that this is not the first time be has imitated Ned Kol'y, and that while in the Wellington asylum be tried to hang himself in the sheets, but although be hung half an hour he failed, because he had not tied the slip knot properly. The boy was brought up at the Police Court to-day, and remanded for medical examination.
