Handicap Hurdle Pace, of 26 sots (over eight flights cf hurdles, about 3ft Cin high), and a sweep of 1 s or each, to be paid to the Secretary before 9 p. m. the night before the races; to ■go to the second horse. Distance, 2 miles. Nominations, sots ; acceptance, 1 sots. 3. The Methven Gcp, a handicap of 60 sots and a sweep of 2 sots each (to be paid to the Secretary before 9 p. m. the night before the race) to go to the second .horse. Distance, 2 miles. Nomination, 2 sots ; accep* tance, 1 sot. 4 Trotting Hack, a distance handicap of 12 sots. Distance, 3 miles. Nominations, £ sot ; acceptance, J sot. 5. District Hurdle Race, a handicap of 15 sots; over eight flights of hurdles, about 3ft Gin high. Distance2 miles. Nomination, 1 ; acceptance, 1 SOTS. 6. District Selling Hao\ Race, of 10 sots ; the winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race for 10 sots, any surplus over that amount to go to the funds of the Club; catch weights. Distance, 1 mile. Entrance, 1 sot. 7. Consolation Handicap, of 15 sots, for horses that have been beaten during the meeting. Nominations to be made to the Secretary immediately after the District Selling Race. Nomination, 1 sot ; acceptance free, to be made within ten minutes after the declaration of the weights. Distance, 1 mile. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, oc whom they may appoint; their decision on all points in carrying out the programme to be final. 2. Canterbury Jockey Club Racing Rales strictly adhered to. 3. A district horse shall mean any horse whose owner has resided, in the Mount Gutt or South Rakaia Road Board districts, or Alford Forest as far as Bowyer’s Stream, thence along Thompson’s Track to Mitcham for three months immediately preceding the races, and has been their bond fide property daring that time-

4. Five per cent will be deducted from the gross of all monies payable in accordance with this programme for expenses of the course. 5. All nominations and acceptances go to the funds of the Club.
