Welter Selling Hurpy Scurry, of 10 sovs. No weight under 10st. The winner to be sold for 15 sovs, any surplus to go to the funds. Post entry, 10s. £ mile. Flying Handicap, of 20 sovs. Nomination, I sov; acceptance, 1 sov. f mile. Novel Race, of 40 sovs. Nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 1 sov. The winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race, the whole of the proceeds to go the funds of the Club. 1 mile. Summer Handicap, of 30 sovs. Nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 1 sov. RULES. 1. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in the country lying between the south bank of the Selwyn and the north bank of the Waitaki, from September 27, 1884, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in the district above defined during the same period. 2. General rules of Ashburton Racing Club and Canterbury Jockey Club racing rules strictly adhered to, and new scale of weight for age adopted. 3. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all monies payable in accordance with the programme, for expenses of the course. 4. All disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the stewards, or whom. they may appoint, their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this programme to be final, and entries will only be received subject to these conditions. 5. All nominations and acceptances go to the fund, All entries and nominations to be accompanied by entrance fees, name and age of horse andcolors of rider, and in the hands of the Secretary, addressed to the Commercial Hotel, Ashburton, not later than 9 p.m. on Monday, December 1. heights will be declared and published in outside papers on the morning of Wednesday, December 24th, and acceptances for the races to be paid to the Secretary as above not later than 9 p.m. on Saturday, December 27.
