James Anderson, late valet to the Governor, but more recently a gro er in this city, against whom an action to recover LSOO damages for breach of promise had been taken by a young woman formerly housemaid to the Hon. W. RoTeston, levanted to Sydney by the*Rotomahana yesterday. The prosecutrix has a pledge of hia affection. Identified. The man who died in the street on Tuesday *has been identified as Fred Young, a painter and sign writer of Dunedin. Parihaka. New Plymouth, To-day. Makuki (who chained up Mr C. W. Hursthouse when coming through Waikato, and was imprisoned in Auckland gaol for that offence last year), together with a number of his Waikato followers, passed through town this morning on their way to Parihaka. There were over fifty natives. On Monday Te Whiti addressed the natives in the marae, but his remarks were of a religious character and no political construction can be put upon them. Wreckage.
