All horses stirring for this race must qualify over a hurdle to the satisfaction of the Stewards. 6. Consolation Handicap, of 30 sovs ; nomination, 1 sov to be made immediately after the Hunters’ Flat Race is run ; acceptance, 1 sov to be made to the Secretary within ten minutes of declaration of weights. 1 mile. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint ; their decision on all points c nnected with carrying out this programme to be final, 2. Canterbury Jockey Club Racing Rules strictly adhered to. 3. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in the Ashburton County from July Bth, 1884, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting and owned by a person who has reside ! in the said County during the same period. 4. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all monies payable in accordance with this programme for expenses of the course. 5. All nominations and acceptances go to the funds of the Club. NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES All entries and nominations to be accompanied by entrance fees, name, and ige of the horse, and colors of rider, and in the hands of the Secretary not later than 9 p.m. on Monday, October 20th. Weights for the first day’s handicaps and Open Hurdle Race will be published on Saturday, November 15th. Weights for the other handicaps will be publish® 1 at 8 o’clock on the evening of the first day’s facing. Acceptances fo' the first day s handicaps and Open Hurdle Race to be made to the Secretary not later than 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18th ; acceptances for other handicaps at, 9 o’clock on the evening of .the first fifty’s racing. N.B.—The attention of owners is particularly called to the fact that no nomination or acceptance will be received unless IT IS LODGED WITH THE SECRET ART before the hoar stated for closing.
