In pursuance of the Regulations of Elections Act, 1881, I, Walter Martin, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Ashburton, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ bearing date the 27th day of ..June, 1884, under the hand of the Clerk of Writs, au Election will be hold for the return of ONE qualified person to serve as MEMBER for tho said Electoral District, and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the Resident Magistrate's Court, Ashburton, at noon, on the 14th day of July, 1884 ; and the Poll (it necessary) will ba taken at the several polling places of the said district on the 22nd day of July, 1884.
