' To .the Editoh. Sib;— l am rather surprised that no mention has yet been made of another candidate to contest the seat for Wakanui with Mr Ivess, who, to my mind,, in the session just closed has broken his pledged word. I refer to bis vote, or what amounts to the same thing, bis pairing on .the question of honorarium. Now, Sir, in answer to an elector as to whether he would rote for a reduction Mr Ivess most distinctly said ,he. would, and yet when the very first opportunity occurs which enable 'him to keep 'his promise, viz, a motion for a redaction, he pairs, or in other words votes for it being paid in fulL .
