The Australian cricketers commenced the eighth match of their tour to-day at Man cheater, where they met an eleven representing Lancashire. An excellent wicket was pitched, and the ground was in first-rate order. The Australians went in first, and succeeded in puttingjceethor 174 runs, toward contributed 36 (bowlSdjTMcDonnell 49 (Ihw), Murdoch 39 (bowled). The Home team then went to the wickets, and when the stomps were drawn for the day their score stood at 109 with five wickets down, J. Buff being not out for 46 to bis credit, Giffen foir Australia bowlei splendidly, and succeeded in doing the hat trick. Daring the day rain fell at intervals, and play Tvis occasionally interrupted. The attendance of spectators was very large.
