Having been appointed Sole Agent in the Ashburton County for the sale of “ The Maclean Pickle and Preserving Company’s goods,” I am prepared to re-1 ceive orders for pickles in bottle or jar, pure vinegar, cordials, and catsup. The quality of these goods is vouched for in the following extracts, and they can be supplied much cheaper than the imported article :—Encourage local industries ! ! 1 “ The Maclean pickles obtained the highest award at the International Exhibition 1882, against several of the principal English manufactures ; the highest award at the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s grand show, 1883; and also a letter highly commendatory from the President of the New Zealand Industrial Exhibition, 1883 and ' 1884 (no awards having been given).”—“ Professor A. W. Bickerton, Colonial Ar ulyst, reports :—The pickles having oeen examined, were found to be well preserved, of good color, and perfectly free from adulteration. These pickles have been in use in my own household for some time past, and I consider them to be superior to those imported. The samples examined were purchased from a grocer in the city, and may therefore be considered to represent the average quality.” —S. E.
