[PBR PRESS ASSOCIATION.] An Exceptional Spot. Wellington, To-day. There has not been a single bankrupt in Wellington since the Ist May, and only 13 since the beginning of the year. Accident. A man named Heggulon, a seaman on the steamer Stormbird, had the forefinger of-his left hand drawn into the winch and crushed, necessitating amputation. Revenue Returns. The total Customs revenue collected in the colony last month ’vas T/106,301, as against L 118,639 for the corresponding month last year:—The principal amounts collected were : Auckland, L 24,446 ; Wellington, L 18,185; Lyttelton, L 13,409; Dunedin, L 29,516. These four places all show decrease on the corresponding month except at Wellington. The beer duty last month wr.s L 4,219, and for the corresponding month last year it was L 4,470. Last month Auckland contrbuttd L 876: Wellington, L 332 ; Christchurch, L 875 ; Dunedin, L 987. -Mo return of Customs revenue has been received, but this is not likely to be large.

Ha wan subjected to a good deal of noisy inter/uptioo during Ids explanation of his action on the Land Board He will support the Government as,against the preent Opposi ioo, and is opposed lo a dissolution. Mr Brown received a vote of confidence at Waipod Tlxe Unemployed. The unemployed again waited on the Mayor, who said he would endeavor to persua.de the Government to give men five shillings a day. Licensing. The Central Licensing Committee, by a majority, granted an extension till midnight to all applicants. They refused an application for a new license. .■JIM!!!!
