[PKR 1-nP.as ASSOCIATION". 3 A Defaulting Witness. Ddnbdin, To-day. At the Resident Magistrate’s Court today Mr Oarew, R. M., fined a witness named Hugh Mitchell, who failed to answer a subpoena, 40s, or in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. The fine was paid. ■ Scabby Sheep. Blenheim, To-day. The Sheep Department laid an information under the Scab Act against Philip Mcßae, of Blairich, and William Pollard, of Birch Hill, The inform* ion against Mcßae alleges that he, being the owner of 10,000 infected sheep, did neglect to keep the rams separate from the ewes before the Inspector had granted a clean certificate for such ewes. The information against Pollard alleges that he was convicted on the 12th November of being the owner of 2,000 infected sheep, and that after the expiration of six months they still continue to be infected. Both informations came before the R.M. Court to-day, and were adiourned to allow the defendants to muster the sheep.
