FIRES.
(by telegraph,) Dunedin, To-day. Matheson’a store at Kaikorai was burnt down at four this morning. The building, together with the stable and two horses were entirely destroyed. The insurances are—Colonial, L3OO on the building and LBOO on the’stock. The origin of the fire is unknown. 'Christchurch, To-day. A six-roomed house in Madras street, Sydenham, owned and occupied by John Crowley, was destroyed by fire this morning. The house and furniture were insured for L 550 in the Colonial.
