Public Notice. A SHBURTON COUNTY COUNCIL. Notice is hereby given that at the next ordinary meeting of the Ashburton County Council, which will be he’d on Friday, tl e 6th day of June, 1884, at 11 b clock m the forenoon, the following resolution will be considered by the Council - Besolved—“ That inasmuch as it appears to this Council that the river works proposed to be constructed on the banks of and in connection with the river Ashburton are for the special benefit of that portion of the County of Ashburton, which is comprised within the boundaries hereinafter mentioned, this < ouncil do make a Special Order defining such portion of the said County, and such Special Order to be as follows, that is to say SPECIAL ORDER. Tn pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Countie i a ct, 1876 the Roads and Bridges-Con-struction Act, 1882, and the Acts amending the said Ac’s, the County Council of Asnburton do hereby order and declare th*t the portion of the County of Ashburton ' which is comprised within the following boundaries shall be deemed to be the portion of the County for the special benefit * f which tho raid works a re *0 be constructed, and the Poll and Special Rate required by the said The Beads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882, to be respectively taken and levied shall only be taken and levied of and on the ratepayers of such particular portion L Bounded on north-west by road line forming north-west boundary of R S 4923, with continuation thereof to south side of Ashburton river - bed bounded on the west by south side of Ashburton river bed, on south-east by South Pacific Ocean on the east by road line f ° rm ' r '" western boundary of R.S. and the northern boundary of K 27956 to south-west corner of R b. 21585 thence in a straight line to bend of road at north-west comer of R.S. 14857 thence along road forming eastern nQ s^ erp boundary e| R.S. 7774 thence alone road line to the starting point as shown in plan in County Council Office.
