Tne sculling match between Hanlan and Layoook took place on the Nepean river this afternoon, and resulted in a victory for the former by half a length. Banian never exerted himself, and won m he liked. The following are the details of the ra ce: —For the first quarter of a mile the boats were level. The competitors both appeared, to be rowing a waiting race. Banian then increased his speed, and at the half mile was leading two lengths. Layoook then sported, but Hanlan answered apparently without exerting himself, and kept the lead for the remainder of the race, finishing half a length ahead. Time, 23min 45sec. There was a large attendance.
